These Mortal Variables
I ran into his arms, seeking shelter... security...
He was my rock.
The independent variable in the experiment of my life.
Never changing.
He looked down at me,
an undeniably strong emotion shining in his eyes,
setting me on fire,
ensnaring me in his gaze.
His eyes were captivating and I was their captive.
Pressing my face in the side od his neck,
I inhaled his scent.
It was a scent that no bottled cologne could rival.
His lips pressed to my ear,
his hot breath caressing the side of my face,
fluttering stray strands of hair.
His sensuous lips parted,
speaking to me,
turning my legs to Jell-o.

.dreams.
Bright, blinding headlights. The shrill squeal of the tires as my father slammed on the brakes. The bloodcurdling scream of my mother from the passenger seat. And then nothing. Absolutely nothing except a faint sense of numbness that had started off as just a memory tugging at the back of my mind. But the memory was starting to grow and become more prominent; fighting to be remembered as much as I willed it not to return. The numb feeling was growing along with the memory, slowly engulfing my body and dragging me under, sweeping me away with its swift, impossibly strong current. My attempts to fight it were futile for every pas

When the alarm sounded again I actually had to get up. Missing two days of school in a row for no apparent reason was absolutely inexcusable in Ames wrinkly eyes. He had no clue why I occasionally miss a day or two of school. I never bothered to tell him.
So, it took some effort, but I managed to drag myself out of bed and over to my door. After I successfully made it down stairs, I went to look for some breakfast. I had to settle for a pop tart instead of my usual pancakes and orange juice. Mandi, our cook and house keeper, was on a vacation. I ate my pop tart slowly, thinking over last night.

Apparently the blood tests came back and I have something... I cant spell it but I see it on the TV show House all the time.
I have to get lots of sun--I am already outside a lot of soccer and the beach so it shouldnt be a problem...
